LCHS: Strategic Plan 2022-2023

LCHS students will increase ELA scores by 4% and math scores by 6% on the SAT School Day assessment in the 2022-2023 school year.

  • All students in grades 9-11 will take the PSAT.

  • During collaborative time, math and English teachers will analyze data, and data will drive classroom instruction to address deficiencies.

  • Professional learning will be provided for teachers; PL includes differentiation, high-yield instructional strategies, formative assessments, Math and English Academy with Carnegie teaching strategies, and SREB training with Depth of Knowledge.

  • Core teachers will meet to create curriculum maps and pacing guides. Common assessments will also be created and utilized more throughout the school year.

  • Administrators will use a consistent walk-through form and conduct classroom walk-throughs. Timely feedback will be provided to teachers. Effective instructional strategies will be monitored and discussed during feedback.

Teacher effectiveness will increase through the continuous use of high yield instructional strategies, differentiation, depth of knowledge, and formative assessments.

  • PLCs will meet to share examples of successful teaching strategies, differentiation, examples of depth of knowledge level 3 and/or 4, and formative assessments. Department heads will individually report results to administration for review and recommendations. A form will be created in order to make this process easy and consistent.

  • Administration will perform walk-throughs and review data collected. Beginning in October, data reports will be shared with faculty.

  • Administration will provide a meeting schedule to help facilitate effective plc/collaboration time.

  • Teachers will be provided mini lessons for professional learning opportunities. Examples of this could be any of the following: book studies, guest speakers, collaboration, sharing of strategies, projects, or data dives.

  • Teachers will complete a provided self-reflection form monthly (beginning in September) to assess and review their teaching effectiveness.

LCHS will decrease the percentage of students who are chronically absent by 20%.

  • Continue the attendance program expectations and contract for the "No more than '1-0' to go" program prior to school beginning. (No more than 10 unexcused absences).

  • Distribute attendance program contract to students on the first day of school, explain the program, require students to sign the contract that day and collect it.

  • Distribute parent copy of the attendance contract to students on the first day of school for students to take home and return it the next day with a parent signature.

  • Communicate attendance expectations and follow-up reminders through posts on LCHS Facebook, Schoology and call outs.

  • For students who have more than 9 excused or unexcused absences each semester, their semester final exam will be worth 20% of their semester grade instead of a regular test score. Absences will not be counted against students who are attending school related functions.

  • Teachers will record accurate attendance daily for every class period.

  • Social workers will make phone calls when students are absent from school and make home visit.

CTE will continue to improve simulated workplace companies by increasing the number of partnerships for each CTE company and achieve the goal of 70% of students will meet or exceed workforce readiness standards.
