Arts Alive is the West Virginia Department of Education's annual event to showcase outstanding arts education programs and student achievements in public schools. The work included in Arts Alive is selected from state arts conferences, festivals and exhibits throughout West Virginia; a competitive submission process; and/or by invitation. Arts Alive has expanded collaborations and interdisciplinary partnerships to include work from the following areas: Dance, Music, Pre-Kindergarten, Science in the Arts, Theatre and Visual Arts. Students perform and exhibit work before an audience of students, family members, educators, policy makers, leaders, advocates and philanthropists.

Lincoln County High School had 3 students who had artwork accepted into Arts Alive this year. The exhibit of approximately 200 pieces from across West Virginia will be mounted for display on Thursday, May 5th, and exhibited during Culture Center hours 9am – 5pm Friday, May 6th. The official Arts Alive Exhibit with reception will begin at 6:00 pm that evening which will include the exhibit itself along with music, dance, and theatrical performances.
